Immigration Laws that affect Seattle

If you just migrated to Seattle, or are already in Seattle, you might want to know which immigration lawyers affect you. Some laws are in effect in some states and aren’t in other states. Also, though it is a cliché, it is really true that ignorance to the law excuses no one. So rather than being ignorant to such changes or such laws, it’s better to be informed. Some of these laws have been passed since years ago but are still in effect up to this date.

Alien Enemies Act
This act authorizes the president to apprehend and deport immigrants whose home countries are at war with the United States of America. This law was enacted on July 6, 1798 during the times of war and is still in effect now. This would mean that if you live in Seattle or any state under the USA, then you can be deported back to your country. If two countries are on bad terms, then hate will usually generate between its citizens. This law, though it may sound bad if you’re a migrant can also protect you from harassment from other citizens.
Illegal Immigration Act
As the name applies, it enforces the capture of any illegal immigrants, which would mean immigrants who are in the US without proper documents. However, this isn’t the only thing that this act implements. Due to the rise of illegal immigrants and immigrants in general, knowing illegal immigrants from the legal immigrants became hard. Also, US citizens were starting to think that immigrants were having almost all the benefits that US citizens were also having; and most of them thought this was unfair. This act employed that there should be phone verification for worker authentication by employers. Welfare benefits were a bit more difficult to attain for immigrants. There was anincrease in border enforcement since this law was passed.
Also, the reason for why some laws have been strict and immigration may sound too hard; it is because of the bombing during 9/11. Since that time, illegal immigrants were increasing in number and suspicion has risen. These things are already true, and knowing them will surely help your immigration or stay in Seattle, For more details, go here http://domesticviolenceattorneyorlando.net/
